Desert Safaris

Discovering the deserts of Ras Mohamed and the area around is no doubt be an experience of a life time. From breath taking mountains and wadis jutting out in a explosion of color is the just the beginning. You will also be met with exceptionally resilient flora with immense rugged beauty. But it is the incredible diversity of the terrestrial fauna which usually grabs the most attention, easily matching the riot of life found off the reefs though a lot less concentrated.
Going about this is very simple. You just need to decide which way suits you most. By camel would be the most ideal way to do it as it would certainly give one the opportunity to discover local Bedouin Culture as well. It is these people that control these expeditions. All you need to do to arrange such an expedition is to contact your hotel lobby to take care of the arrangements. This is usually arranged a day or two in advance.
Another way to go on desert safari is to hire a couple of quads and local guide. There are usually no problems in arranging for the guide at the many Quad rental spots located all over Sharm-el-Sheikh. Otherwise, you could opt for a planned safari using a 4X4's. These cover more ground in less time and are generally quite well arranged. Here again you should contact your hotel or even your cab driver. As you will discover, Sharm-el-Sheikh and the other Sinai resorts are small towns where everyone knows everyone else and are all only too happy to point you out in the right direction. What is meant is that there is no shortage of information if you just ask around !
Now, we will be adding a list of recommended Safari tour and expedition operators which we will hope might facilitate your task of choosing:

Safaris on Camelback

Safaris on Quad Bikes

4X4 Safaris
