The weather in Ras Mohamed is typical of that of a hyper-arid region with cool winters and hot summers. It is similar to the mountainous massif of Southern Sinai but is moderated by the sea breeze throughout the year. Rainfall is less than 30mm per year. It is occasional and very unpredictable.

What this really means is that the sun don't stop shinin' all year through! Having said that, diving in the area is usually decided by the sea conditions especially since the strong currents already make diving in and around Ras Mohamed the domain of the more experienced. Do not be put off, though because on the whole the weather is just simply beautiful!

Although in the summer the weather can get a little too hot, the months of January and February are ideal to escape the cold and dreariness of Europe, or even Cairo. As is the case with most deserts, do not expect any warmth at night.
