General health tips
Ras Mohamed is a dry area, with limited health problems. Adequate medical facilities are available in the area. However, there are certain precautions all travellers must take. A common problem here is sunburn and all visitors are strongly advised to use protective creams when sun tanning, swimming, or snorkelling. At night, during the summer months, mosquitoes can be a problem so you should also stock up on insect repellants. These products, along with all types of tanning lotions and sun blocks are widely available in Sharm-el-Sheikh.
To avoid unecessary stomach upsets, diarrhea, or worse, during your holiday, it is preferable that visitors drink only bottled water. Uncooked greens and vegetables should be avoided, except in fine restaurants.
Packing a first aid kit in any of your travels is a wise thing to do. You should also consult your doctor before travelling for further information and the necessary vaccinations.
